Qamishli (Syria) – ADO-World.org >>> We call upon all our Assyrians (Syriacs) in the homeland and Diaspora, and our brothers in our beloved country Syria, Arabs, Kurds and Armenians, Muslims and Christians, and to all free people in the world, to join in the solidarity campaign that we are initiating on Sunday, June 5, 2011 and until Sunday, June 12, 2011, calling for the release of one of Syria’s oldest Political Prisoners, "Yaqoub Hanna Shamoun" born in Amouda in 1963, and has been detained without a crime or trial since July 2, 1985.
We are calling on everyone to change their Facebook profile picture to that of the political prisoner Yacoub Hanna Shamoun throughout the whole week. Let us unite together to pressure the Syrian Government and help Yacoub return to his mother who has been waiting for him for 26 years.
