Iraq MP Calls for Protection of Christians Rights

 



     



Kirkuk, Iraq – alsumaria — Chaldean Catholic archbishop in Kirkuk Louis Saka warned of the campaign against Christians in Iraq according to internal and regional plans calling not to be drifted into injustice.

Saka urged Christians to attach to their nation and peacefully struggle to mark their presence and protect their roots under the motto of peace and dialogue. Iraqi List MP Osama Al Nujaifi denounced killing of Christians and the campaign against them in Mosul cautioning that this is meant to trigger discord in aim to eliminate a respected and refined component of the Iraqi society.

Al Nujaifi called on Mosul residents to stand by the side of Christians and defend them stressing the necessity to protect their rights mainly that the Constitution stipulates equal rights to all Iraqis regardless of their national and religious backgrounds.
