Governor of Urhoy (Urfa) visits tel wardiat of convent

Syria – Tel Wardiat–

Peace and greetings to you from the Monastery of St. Mary at Tel-Wardiat, Hassake, Syria.
It is my pleasure to keep in touch with you and I hope this email finds you to the best of health and happiness.

I am delighted to share with you four photos of the visit of the Wali (governor) of Urfa (historical Eddessa) in Turkey and our governor of Hassake, Syria to our monastery on Wednesday 28 February 2007. They had a good in our monastery.

We talked about the Syriac-Aramaic history of Urfa. The Wali had a very good knowledge of it.
We are here fine, but more Iraqis are coming into our area. At the end of March, before the Holy Week, we will distribute to them some money, which we received from St. Barnabas Fund, England.

With prayers and best wishes,

Sincerely yours

Eustathius Matta Roham,
Metropolitan of Jazirah and Euphrates
