Assyrian Man Abducted on the Way to Syria


 
North Iraq – AINA An Assyrian (also known as Chaldean and Syriac) man traveling from Kirkuk, North Iraq to Syria was abducted at noon today.

The man, identified as Wesam Khamis, was traveling with his wife and sisters when their car was stopped by masked and armed men. Mr. Khamis was taken out of the car and driven away; the women were not harmed. The reason for the kidnapping is unknown and the kidnappers have not made contact yet.

Mr. Khamis holds a degree in physical education and was born in the 1950s.
