Arab League Chief Blocks Evidence Incriminating Syria

Libanon – Al-Mustaqbal — The Lebanese daily Al-Mustaqbal has reported that Arab League Secretary-General Amru Moussa sought to prevent the Lebanese representative at the June 15 Arab foreign ministers’ meeting in Cairo from showing documents and evidence proving Syria’s involvement in the events at Nahr Al-Bared refugee camp, and in smuggling weapons and gunmen into Lebanon.

According to the paper, Moussa acted in a similar manner towards the Palestinian representative who wanted to show documents on “Hamas’s violations and the element behind them.”

The Lebanese representative insisted on giving a speech on most of the accusations against Syria, but Moussa prevented discussion on the subject. The only response came from the Qatari and Syrian foreign ministers, who condemned the Lebanese representative’s statements.
